TA provides a systematic approach to understanding the connections between human needs and behavior.
Transactional Analysis (TA) is a psychological theory that explains human behavior and personality. It was introduced as a comprehensive method of psychotherapy by Eric Berne in the late 1950s. Berne's theory is based on Freud's ideas, but differs markedly. Whereas Freudian psychotherapists focused on the personalities of clients, Berne believed that insight could be better discovered by analyzing the client's social transactions.
Today, Transactional Analysis concepts and techniques are used not only by psychotherapists but also by many professionals interested in development and growth. It is fair to say that it has a wide range of uses, especially in Organizational and Educational fields and in Coaching.
Transactional Analysis is an extremely useful tool for analyzing what is going on between the Coach and Coachee and other stakeholders in the relationship. Interestingly, many familiar coaching terms actually originate from TA, but because they are embedded in our language, we use them without realizing that they originate from TA. In the TA for Coaches Program you will have the opportunity to explore what these terms are. TA offers numerous and functional tools that are extremely useful for understanding the communication between the Coach and the Coachee and for Coachees to analyze their own functioning.
It is a comprehensive program that includes tools and practical applications that all Professional Coaches will put in their pockets to be a companion to those who receive Coaching in order to improve their relationships, solve problems and make positive changes in their lives.
The program provides the opportunity to learn and experience TA concepts that can be used comfortably and practically in Coaching and the application of each concept transformed into a Coaching tool. A Coach who completes the program will go through an experiential learning experience where they will have the knowledge and practical skills to use what they have learned the very next day.
The most important strength of a coaching professional with Transactional Analysis tools is that they have the tools to help their clients understand themselves better.
